Gururbrahma Gururvishnu

गुरुर्ब्रह्मा गुरुर्विष्णु

र्गुरुर्देवो महेश्वरः |

गुरु साक्षात परब्रह्मा

तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः ||

gururbrahmā gururviṣṇu

gururdēvō mahēśvaraḥ |
guru sākṣāta parabrahmā

tasmai śrīguravē namaḥ ||

Guru (the teacher) is Brahma (the force of creation); Guru is Vishnu (the force of preservation), Guru is Maheshwara (the force of transformation). Guru is the embodiment of Para Brahma. We bow down to that Guru.
