Manojavam Marutatulya Vegam

मनोजवं मारुततुल्यवेगं   

जितेन्द्रियं बुद्धिमतां वरिष्ठं |

वातात्मजं वानरयूथमुख्यं  

श्रीरामदूतं शिरसा नमामि ||

manōjavaṁ mārutatulyavēgaṁ   

jitēndriyaṁ buddhimatāṁ variṣṭhaṁ |

vātātmajaṁ vānarayūthamukhyaṁ 

 śrīrāmadūtaṁ śirasā namāmi ||

Meaning:

I take refuge in Hanuman, who is as fast as the mind, equals his father Maruta (vayu) in speed, is the master of the senses, foremost amongst the learned, leader of the Vānara forces, and great messenger of Shri Rama.

Extended Meaning:

Shri Hanuman has great speed, self control and wisdom. He serves Shri Rama. When he was just a child, once he mistook The Sun for a ripe fruit. He then traveled through space to grab The Sun and was able to keep up with it. We seek refuge in Shri Hanuman.
